APAYAO - Several villages in the province of Apayao remained isolated Thursday in the aftermath of the onslaught of super typhoon Lawin.

The tropical cyclone made landfall in Cagayan on Wednesday evening, and hit Apayao and Ilocos Norte before exiting the Philippine area of responsibility.

About 6,665 individuals were evacuated. No casualties were reported in the low-lying towns of Flora, Pudtol, Sta. Marcela and Luna.
