Wesleyan grad tops CPA board exams; UP sets 100 pct passing rate

MANILA - The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Thursday that 5,249 out of 14,390 passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination.

Vhinson Jay Garcia of Wesleyan University-Philippines Cabanatuan topped the exam with a score of 94.33 percent.

University of the Philippines-Diliman meanwhile emerged as the top performing school with a 100-percent passing rate.

The successful examinees who garnered the 10 highest places in the October 2016 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination are the following:

The exams were given by the Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena and Tacloban this October 2016.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done online. Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag) and 2 sets of documentary stamps. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination are yet to be announced.
