‘Paolo’ to exit PH area of responsibility early Sunday

<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2017/tvpatrol/10/19/paolo.gif"/></figure></div><p>MANILA—Typhoon “Paolo” (international name: Lan) is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility early Sunday, state weather bureau PAGASA said Saturday night.</p><p>In its 11 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said Paolo’s center was last estimated at 1,190 kilometers east-northeast of Basco, Batanes. It is forecast to maintain its north-northeast movement at 27 kph.</p><p>The typhoon packs maximum sustained winds of 185 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 225 kph.</p><p>Mindanao, Western Visayas and Palawan may experience scattered light to moderate and at times heavy rainshowers during thunderstorms due to a southwesterly wind flow enhanced by Paolo.</p><p>PAGASA warned that sea travel is risky over the seaboards of Northern and Southern Luzon, eastern seaboards of Central Luzon and of Mindanao, and the western and eastern seaboards of Visayas.</p><p>The US Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) earlier categorized Paolo as a “<a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/overseas/10/21/17/paolo-now-a-super-typhoon-jtwc-says">super typhoon</a>.”</p><p>Paolo is expected to reach peak strength at 259-kph maximum sustained winds and 314-kph gusts before hitting the Japanese mainland, the JTWC said.</p><ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/overseas/10/21/17/japan-braces-for-super-typhoon-ahead-of-election">READ: Japan braces for super typhoon ahead of election</a></li></ul><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2017/tvpatrol/10/19/paolo-track.png"/></figure></div>
