The party&#x27;s current president is his son, Sen. Koko Pimentel, while Duterte is its chairman. </p><p>Pimentel, who was a fierce critic of former strongman Ferdinand Marcos, was also an advocate of federalism for the Philippines, which Duterte is also pushing for.</p><p>Pimentel&#x27;s remains will be brought to the Senate office in Pasay City on Wednesday, Oct. 23. It will be flown to Cagayan de Oro on Friday, Oct. 25, where a funeral service will be held in Cagayan de Oro City Hall.</p><p>His remains will be returned to Heritage Park and will be laid to rest on Saturday, Oct. 26.</p><p>The democracy icon is survived by his wife and 6 children, including Koko Pimentel and human rights commissioner Gwendolyn Pimentel-Gana. </p>
