MANILA - Facebook users can soon play songs on their profiles as the tech giant prepares to roll out a new feature.

Whether it's your current jam or classic tracks, users can soon add songs to the new "music" section, Facebook said Wednesday.

"We’ll soon be launching the ability to add songs — what you’re currently listening to, or your all-time-favorites — to a new music section on your profile," said a Facebook Newsroom update.

Under the upcoming feature, users can also pin a song to the top of their profile to share with friends.

"Moments are remembered and accentuated with music, and we can’t wait to see all the ways people around the world get creative with these features, make memories, and have fun with friends and family," Facebook said.

Songs users add to their profiles will also visually showcase the artist and track.

"When someone plays a song on your profile, they’ll hear a clip of the song and see an accompanying video featuring photos of the artists and album art," the social media giant said.

Facebook said it has also launched "Music on Facebook Stories," allowing users to add a song to photos and videos shared on Facebook Stories.

The newly-launched feature can be customized as users can pick a certain part of the song which they want to add to their story and add stickers related to it.
