MANILA (UPDATED) - State weather bureau PAGASA on Wednesday midnight issued a red rainfall warning over five provinces due to a low pressure area (LPA).

In a rainfall warning issued at 12 a.m., PAGASA said serious flooding and landslides threaten Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur in Bicol Region and Oriental Mindoro and Marinduque in MIMAROPA Region.

PAGASA also said the provinces of Albay and Sorsogon and Burias Island may experience light to moderate rains.

In its 4 p.m. advisory on Tuesday, PAGASA said the LPA was spotted 60 kilometers south-southwest of Masbate City.

It is set to bring light to moderate with occasional heavy rains in Aurora, Quirino, Quezon, Visayas, and Bicol region.

Strong winds and occasional heavy rains due to localized thunderstorms are expected over Mindanao and Palawan.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience cloudy skies with light rains.
