Harlington Palangchao, Reuters</figcaption></figure></div>The 5th Infantry Division (ID) of the Philippine Army confirmed the death of three Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) Active Auxiliary (CAA) personnel in the landslide in Barangay Banawel, Natonin, Mountain Province during the onslaught of typhoon Rosita last Tuesday.The three fatalities were identified by the military as Loebel Orchilion, Linang Pallichang and Jonathan Ngilin.Two others, whose names have been withheld, were still missing, according to Captain Jefferson Somera, spokesperson of the 5th ID.The five CAFGUs were assigned in Ubao Patrol Base in Barangay Ubao, Aguinaldo, Ifugao and under the Alfa Company of the 77th Infantry Battalion (IB). But they were all on leave when the incident happened, according to Lieutenant Colonel Rember Baylosis, Commanding Officer of the 77th IB.Baylosis added that CAFGU personnel are only required to work for 15 days. During days when not on duty, some take extra work to have additional income for their families.The five CAFGUs went to work as laborers and skilled workers at a Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) project, said Baylosis.Major General Perfecto Rimando Jr., 5th ID Commander, expressed sympathy to the families of the CAFGUs who perished in the landslide.&quot;The whole Star Troopers grieve with the families of our CAA members. We will see to it that their families will receive all the necessary assistance that is due to them,&quot; Rimando said.Several military forces were mobilized to help in the retrieval operations. &quot;We are still praying that we will retrieve the other victims to include the other two CAAs the soonest possible time.&quot; Rimando Jr added.
