ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ - Four people died and two others were injured after the car they were riding crashed into a coconut tree in Roxas City, Capiz on Tuesday morning.

Police identified the fatalities as Johnbert Ching Go, Patrick James Ilave, Joemer Baes, and Bryan Macalintal.

They were declared dead on arrival when rushed to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital.

The two surviving victims - Gurpakash Singh, an Indian national, and Joy Gico - sustained multiple injuries.

SPO2 Anthony Bitbit, traffic investigator in Roxas City, said Singh was driving under the influence of alcohol.

He said the victims were heading north when they hit the gutter of the center island.

Singh lost control of the vehicle from the impact until it crashed into a coconut tree in Barangay Baybay.

The driver will face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, physical injury, and damage to property.
