MANILA - The Judicial and Bar Council on Monday has set the public interview for Supreme Court associate justice aspirants on December 5.

Among those who will face the JBC are Court of Appeals associate justices Ramon Cruz, Eduardo Peralta, Ricardo Rosario, and Ramon Bato Junior.

Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang and Associate Justice Efren Dela Cruz will also be interviewed by the council.

The 14 other applicants for the high court's associate justice position will not face the JBC because their previous public interviews are seen as valid.

Out of the 20 applicants, the JBC will only choose one who will replace Associate Justice Noel Tijam who will retire on January 5, 2019.

The JBC urged the public to watch the interviews and file their opposition to the bid of any applicant through mail or fax before November 27.
