MANILA - A no-fly zone will be imposed in areas surrounding venues of the opening and closing ceremonies of the 30th Southeast Asian Games, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.In a Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs), CAAP said the no-fly zone would be in effect on November 30 at the Philippine Arena, where opening ceremonies will be held, and on December 11 at the New Clark City in Pampanga, the venue for closing ceremonies. From 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. of the said dates, aircraft may not fly close to the two venues. &quot;The NOTAMs, which will restrict all aircraft operations within three (3) nautical miles and restrict general aviation flights within forty (40) nautical miles of the Philippine Arena and New Clark City from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., will take effect during the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games on November 30 and December 11, respectively,&quot; the notice read. The no-fly zone will also include restrictions on the operation of Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles (UAV) or drones.CAAP further said airline operations at the Clark International Airport would not be affected by the issuance of NOTAMs.Some 10,000 athletes are expected to take part in the biennial regional games.
