MANILA—A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck in Bukidnon Monday night, damaging several homes and buildings in the province.

The municipal hall and Sangguniang Bayan building of Kadingilan town sustained cracks from the tremor.

The local disaster risk reduction and management office of Kadingilan said 3 were sent to the nearest hospitals, including a person who sustained a head injury.

Edgy locals were also seen camped in tents near their damaged homes.

In Don Carlos town, Bukidnon, a roof and walls of several homes collapsed from the tectonic quake.

The towns of Kadingilan and Don Carlos were among those who felt intensity 6, which could produce "very strong" shaking.

The quake also sent patients out of Cotabato Regional and Medical Center in Cotabato City.

Cotabato City experienced intensity 4, which could produce "strong" shaking and rocking felt throughout buildings.
