MANILA - SEA Games organizers will start &quot;triple-checking&quot; the dietary requirements of visiting athletes in the Philippines, an official said Wednesday, after Brunei&#x27;s national football team captain, a nephew of the Sultan, was hospitalized due to peanut allergies.Faiq Jefri Bolkiah, nephew of Brunei&#x27;s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, was brought to the Manila Doctor&#x27;s Hospital over the weekend after his peanut allergy was triggered by a curry dish served in the hotel where he was staying. &quot;We will try to contact their coaches, whoever coordinates with us, to find out their dietary restrictions. We just have to make sure we double check it, triple check it so that no one gets sick,&quot; SEA Games executive chef Bruce Lim told reporters.&quot;I demand from majority of the coordinators if there are allergens for the athletes, [tell us so] I can make sure that their food comes out correctly,&quot; he said.Information about Faiq&#x27;s allergy to peanuts was clearly stated in the information provided to organizers, Brunei&#x27;s medical staff Faisal Hashim earlier told ABS-CBN News.Lim admitted that disclosing dietary restrictions and allergies was part of the accreditation form athletes were made to sign before participating in the regional competition.Organizers will &quot;look into&quot; possible lapses that led to the hospitalization of the visiting royal athlete, Lim said.&quot;I will look into that. We try to work hand in hand with their nutritionists and coaches,&quot; he said.Lim said he would also &quot;make sure&quot; that ingredients of every dish served in all SEA Games venues will be posted after Faiq&#x27;s camp requested this new policy to avoid similar incidents throughout the duration of the games. &quot;As long as you let us know, whatever your needs are we will take care of,&quot; Lim said.&quot;My main point is food safety... I want to make sure that they leave feeling the Filipino hospitality through the food,&quot; he said.
