Any person found guilty shall be punished with up to 12 years imprisonment or a fine of up to a maximum amount commensurate to the damage incurred or both,” it said.</p><p>“The OSG will see to it that the individual and institutions behind this act will be prosecuted and punished to the fullest extent of the law,” it added.</p><p>The OSG however could not confirm earlier reports that about 9,000 files containing personal information were downloaded by the hackers.</p><p>The group Phantom Troupe was also behind other hacking incidents involving the government website www.gov.ph and the servers of Philippine colleges and universities and the Philippine Basketball Association earlier this year.</p>
