Vice President Leni Robredo on Monday said the camp of former senator Bongbong Marcos showed signs of knowing the looming order of President Rodrigo Duterte barring her from attending Cabinet meetings.

Robredo said prior to her resignation announcement Sunday, her camp saw tweets from members of Marcos' camp bidding her goodbye.

“Yung pinaka-huling pruweba na bahagi ito ng kanilang ginagawa, nung tinext ako ni Cabsec Jun Evasco, wala pang nakakaalam nun, ako pa lang atsaka mga anak ko at konting miyembro ng aking staff… pero yung kampo ni Bongbong Marcos merong mga tweets na nag goo-goodbye sa akin,” she said in an interview on TV Patrol Monday night.

Marcos' camp on Monday issued a statement on Robredo's resignation, saying that it was "long overdue."

The former Camarines Sur congresswoman won against Marcos in the May vice presidential race with a slim margin. It was a win that led the younger Marcos to file an election campaign on claims of election fraud.

Robredo said the tweets reinforce her camp’s belief that there is a plan to steal the vice presidency from her.

In an earlier statement, Robredo said plans to steal the vice presidency from her are "now being set into motion."

She resigned as housing secretary after receiving orders from Duterte to "desist" from attending Cabinet meetings.

Duterte accepted Robredo's resignation on Monday "with a heavy heart", according to a Palace spokesperson.

Robredo reiterated that she has no plans to become President and that she will continue her work in the housing sector despite her Cabinet resignation.
