The Abu Sayyaf leader who was involved in the 2015 kidnapping of four tourists on Samal Island in Davao del Norte has been killed, the military said Saturday.

Abraham Hamid and two cohorts were killed during an encounter between the Abu Sayyaf group and local authorities in Lahad Datu, Sabah on Thursday.

Two Abu Sayyaf members identified as Samsungaljan and Awal Hajal were also caught during the operation. Two others are missing, according to the Western Mindanao Command.
