Miss Universe fashion show in Davao a go after 'truce'

<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/news-special1/nation/12/15/20161212-miss-universe.jpg"/></figure></div><p><strong>(UPDATED)</strong> The Miss Universe fashion show in Davao City will push through, tourism officials said, after being cancelled to &quot;prevent controversies that may arise.&quot;</p><p>The show was put back on after a meeting on Saturday between tourism officials, Davao designers and representatives of veteran designer Renee Salud, tourism undersecretary Kat de Castro told ABS-CBN News.</p><p>De Castro said that Davao designers will be dressing up 10 candidates for the event, which will take place on January 19 at the SMX Davao Convention Center, more than a week ahead of the pageant&#x27;s coronation night on January 30.</p><p>Aztec Barba, president of the Davao Fashion and Design Council Foundation Inc. The focus will be on Mindanao fabric, and not on the designers, she said</p>
