MANILA - Tropical Depression Vicky barreled closer to Davao Oriental, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall in Mindanao and parts of Visayas over the weekend, state weather bureau PAGASA said Friday afternoon.

In its 2 p.m. bulletin, state weather forecasters said Vicky is expected to make landfall in the "vicinity of Baganga-Caraga area in Davao Oriental" between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Vicky, which has maximum sustained winds up to 45 kph and gustiness up to 60 kph, is expected to move northwest near Siquijor on Saturday morning, PAGASA said.

If it maintains its path and 15 kph speed, Vicky is poised to make another landfall over the southern portion of Negros Island tomorrow, it said.
