The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said 29 road sections nationwide are closed to traffic. Eighteen of these are in Region V, while there are 4 each in the Cordillera Administrative Region and Region IV-A or Calabarzon.

The are also 2 closed roads in Region II and another one in Region III.

DPWH said the roads are closed because of flooding, landslides, rockslides, fallen trees, and collapsed bridges, pavement, or soil.

Some roads in Metro Manila are also flooded, the DPWH said, but the agency noted that they are still passable to all types of vehicles

The DPWH also said there is limited access to 9 roads--6 in the Bicol Region and 3 in Calabarzon--because of flooding and the collapse of soil and rocks.

The agency said it sent out personnel to declog canals and waterways and clear roads in the National Capital Region.

Meanwhile, San Miguel Corporation said its tollways remain flood-free.

“Since the onset of Tropical Storm Kristine, our teams have observed isolated rain along our expressway network at different times, and water immediately flowed out of the carriageway through our drainage system,” SMC chairman and chief executive officer Ramon S. Ang said.

Ang said they have ensured that their outfalls are free of debris and grabage so rainwater can drain out fast.
