Dennis Datu, ABS-CBN News"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">More than 2,000 residents were evacuated from isolated barangays in the Municipality of Agoncillo, Batangas, in preparation for the possible impacts of #LeonPH as the province reels from the effects of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine. <em>Dennis Datu, ABS-CBN News</em></span></span></span>MANILA -- The recent onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine caused up to P110 million in damages to various sea ports in the country, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista reported Monday, quoting data from the Philippine Ports Authority. </div><p>&quot;Sa mga seaports natin ngayon, so far, open na lahat ng seaports natin. Nagkaroon ng mga minor damages doon sa a few airports natin. The report that I got from GM Jay Santiago, is that we are estimating around 100 to 110 million pesos damage doon sa mga sea ports natin,&quot; Bautista said in a Palace briefing.</p><p>&quot;Sa Batangas, maliit, there are more that 100 sea ports that were affected by Typhoon Kristine, mga minor damages, but total, aabutin din ng mga almost a hundred million iyong mga damages, which is PPA is now working on to do the repair,&quot; he added.</p><p>&quot;Kristine&quot; has caused 116 deaths, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Monday, with 39 still missing.</p><p>It caused massive flooding and destruction last week, affecting more than half a million families. A total of 160 cities and towns have declared a state of calamity to access additional disaster funds and freeze the prices of basic goods.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/10/28/116-reported-dead-due-to-kristine-ndrrmc-928">READ: 116 reported dead due to Kristine -- NDRRMC</a></div><p>The Transportation Chief says authorities are addressing the long lines of RORO passengers of the sea port from Sorsogon to Allen, Samar which he says have already extended to almost 30 kilometers, according to reports.</p><p>&quot;Ang maraming naapektuhan na mga pasahero natin ay iyong doon sa, dito sa Sorsogon, iyong ating seaport from Matnog, Sorsogon to Allen. Hanggang ngayon medyo mahaba pa rin iyong pila ng mga sasakay doon sa RoRo from Matnog to Allen. But, we are working closely with all the authorities, so that mapadali iyong pagbiyahe nung mga sasakyan,&quot; Bautista said, adding that operations of the sea port may take until the weekend to normalize.</p><p>He urged bus operators to monitor the situation before allowing their buses to travel to Bicol. Bautista said bus operators can instead utilize alternative routes going to Visayas, especially with the expected increase in travelers for All Saints Day.</p><p>&quot;Mayroon naman tayong alternative modes of transportation, iyong mga biyahe ng Cebu, iyong mga gustong magbiyahe ng by boat or by ship going to the Visayas, puwede sila via Batangas, kasi mayroong mga RoRo service from Batangas going to Caticlan or from Batangas  to Mindoro, to Roxas and Bulalacao. And mayroon ding Roro from that place going to Caticlan. And from there, puwedeng magbiyahe iyong mga buses going to Iloilo and even to Bacolod and Cebu,&quot; he said.</p><p>Bautista says he expects 3 million local Filipino travelers to flock to airports and seaports, and another 1 million to 1.5 million passengers to bus terminals.</p><p>&quot;Ang Department of Transportation, together with the other attached agencies ang CAAP, ang PPA, MIAA, ang Cebu International Airport, we are getting ready for the Undas biyahe. Mayroon kaming, every year, we have this Oplan Biyaheng Ayos, para sa ating mga mananakay.
