The National Bureau of Investigation has filed several complaints before the Department of Justice against former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo and five others in connection with her allegedly spurious counter-affidavit.

Guo,lawyer Elmer Galicia who notarized the counter-affidavit, and four other individuals, arefacing falsification by a notary public, use of falsified document, perjury and obstruction of justice complaints.

The counter-affidavit signed by Guo and Galicia was dated August 14, 2024, several weeks after Guo supposedly left the Philippines on July 18, 2024.

Guo allegedly subscribed and sworn the document before Galicia.

NBI head agent Palmer Mallari said they submitted municipal documents signed by Guo and the purported signature in the counter-affidavit to the Questioned Documents Division of the bureau.

“And true enough after the examination conducted by our QDD it was proven that the samples, sample signatures appearing on the documents as compared to the supposed signature appearing on the counter-affidavit were actually not written by one and the same person,” Mallari said.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said a disbarment case will also be filed against Galicia.

“It is a message to our fellow lawyers that we should obey the law and if you are caught doing something it will be dealt with very severely,” Remulla said.

NBI Director Jaime Santiago said the agency is continuing its investigation on Guo, who is already facing several cases before the courts including trafficking, as well as complaints undergoing preliminary investigation such as money laundering.

“Meron pa ho, continuously nagi-investigate kami mga possible lead kay Alice Guo but sasabihin namin sa inyo pag ready na at may ebidensya nang nakuha,” Santiago said.
