TV Patrol/Screengrab</p><div></div><p>MANILA — The Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) has filed a complaint of serious illegal detention against eight Chinese nationals over the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in Bamban, Tarlac.</p><p>Police Brig. Gen. Nicholas Torre, <span id="isPasted" style="caret-color:rgb(65, 65, 65);color:rgb(65, 65, 65)">PNP-CIDG director, </span>was present during the filing of the complaint at the Department of Justice on Wednesday afternoon.</p><p>&quot;We filed additional cases this afternoon regarding doon sa Bamban raid na lugar ni Alice Guo. Although hindi siya yung na-implead dito, kundi yung mga kasama niyang Chinese. We impleaded them for serious illegal detention kasi merong complainants na naging biktima nila,&quot; he said.</p><p>(We filed additional cases this afternoon related to the Bamban raid, which is Alice Guo&#x27;s place. Although she wasn&#x27;t the one impleaded but the Chinese nationals she worked with.)</p><p>Serious illegal detention refers to the kidnapping or detention of another person to deprive them of their liberty.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/10/7/bi-reminds-foreign-pogo-workers-of-october-15-deadline-to-downgrade-visas-1558">RELATED: BI reminds foreign POGO workers of October 15 deadline to downgrade visas</a></div><div><strong>RESPONDENTS ARE POGO PERSONNEL</strong></div><p>Torre said the eight respondents are all Chinese nationals who were employees of the POGO in Bamban, Tarlac.</p><p>&quot;Well, all of them are personnel...holding positions that actually requires them to take control over these victims,&quot; he said.</p><p>While he did not give names, Torre said the respondents are also the same ones involved in previous cases involving POGOs.</p><p>&quot;May mga initial cases na. Yung trafficking in persons, POGO operations before, they stemmed from the same operation,&quot; he said.</p><p>(There are initial cases against them. The trafficking in persons case from the POGO operations)</p><p>The PNP-CIDG chief said the complainants are two Chinese nationals who said they were brought to the Philippines &quot;in some scheme&quot;.</p><p>He said more cases are coming as the investigation into the POGO, where human trafficking and torture allegedly happened, continues.</p><p>Torre said the complainants and respondents are in their custody.</p><p>During the raid in March, authorities rescued Filipinos and foreign nationals inside the compound.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/10/29/comelec-files-poll-rap-vs-guo-before-tarlac-court-1343">RELATED: Comelec files poll rap vs Guo before Tarlac court</a></div><div><strong>TORRE: MORE CASES COMING</strong></div><p>The PNP-CIDG chief said these complaints are not the last and there are more to come.</p><p>&quot;May mga nabanggit na mga local officials but we are still validating,&quot; Torre said.</p><p>(There were some local officials mentioned but we are still validating the information)</p><p>Former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Guo is facing a graft case before a Valenzuela court and a qualified trafficking case in Pasig.</p><p>She also faces complaints for tax evasion, money laundering, perjury and falsification at the DOJ.</p><p>The Commission on Elections on Tuesday filed charges of material representation against Guo before the Tarlac Regional Trial Court.
