MANILA — A low pressure area and band of clouds will bring rains over large parts of the country on Monday, PAGASA said.

The LPA was 165 km west northwest of Coron, Palawan at 3 a.m. and embedded along an intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) or band of clouds, the state weather bureau said.

PAGASA said the two weather systems would bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, and Batangas.

Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ, the weather agency added.

Meanwhile, a tropical depression was spotted 2,540 kilometers east of Luzon’s northern tip. It is unlikely to enter the Philippine area, PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said in a Facebook broadcast.
