DOJ says to search for and extradite Dalia Pastor over killing of husband Enzo

<p>MANILA (UPDATED) - The Department of Justice (DOJ) has vowed to search for and extradite Dalia Pastor after the Supreme Court revived her case over the 2014 killing of her husband, race car driver Enzo Pastor. </p><p>The Supreme Court earlier this year <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/10/3/sc-finds-probable-cause-vs-wife-of-race-car-driver-enzo-pastor-1815">found probable cause to try her</a> and reversed the Court of Appeals&#x27; dismissal of the case.</p><p>It also reinstated the arrest warrant and Hold Departure Order against Dalia, who is believed to have fled to Indonesia and later to Malaysia.</p><div><strong>&#x27;WHEELS OF JUSTICE WILL NOT REMAIN IDLE&#x27;</strong></div><p>Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said the department will work with international counterparts to find Dalia and extradite her to the Philippines.</p><p>&quot;Ten years have passed and this is the time to prove that the present administration will do whatever it takes to get the job done at all costs,&quot; he also said.</p><p>The Pastor family has appealed to authorities to find and arrest Dalia &quot;the way that they did with Mayor Alice Guo, so that somehow, she can be brought back here in the Philippines.&quot;</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/10/4/-time-to-act-after-sc-revives-enzo-pastor-slay-case-parents-ask-gov-t-to-arrest-his-widow-918">• ‘Time to act’: After SC revives Enzo Pastor slay case, parents seek his widow&#x27;s arrest</a></div><p>&quot;The wheels of justice will not remain idle or passive,&quot; Remulla promised on Monday.</p><p>The Philippine National Police has also committed to coordinating with other law enforcement agencies to find and arrest Dalia.</p><div><strong>PH COORDINATION WITH OTHER COUNTRIES</strong></div><p>The government has been working with other countries to find high-profile personalities like dismissed Bamban Mayor <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/9/3/alice-guo-arrested-in-indonesia-740">Alice Guo and others linked to illegal activities at Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators</a> who had slipped out of the country in July and who were apprehended in Indonesia.</p><p>It has also been coordinating with the government of East Timor on the <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/9/17/extradition-case-of-teves-in-timor-leste-to-be-tried-again-doj-910">potential extradition of expelled Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr</a>, who is facing cases in the Philippines related to the 2023 murder of Negros Oriental Gov.
