MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) officially closed on Tuesday the period of filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) for those seeking to join the May 2025 elections.

The COC and certificates of acceptance of nomination (CON-CAN) filing kicked off on Oct. 1 and lasted until 5 p.m. of Oct. 8.

According to data provided by Comelec on Tuesday evening, they received 184 COCs for senator and 190 CON-CANs during the 8-day filing period. The total number of aspirants for local posts is still being verified.
