MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday denied that she is the subject of a supposed political plot called “Save the Queen,” to make her the next president of the Philippines.

The vice president made the statement after former Bureau of Customs intelligence officer Jimmy Guban bared the supposed plot during the House quad committee hearing last week, where he alleged that the killings perpetrated by the "Davao mafia" was all to "'save the queen' in order to become the next president."

He further claimed that Davao City Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte and the vice president’s husband Mans Carpio, were part of the conspiracy.

“Wala namang gagawa ng operation na sasabihin niya ano ang objective ng operation niya," Duterte told reporters in a press briefing in Bacolod City Monday afternoon.

“Napaka-obvious naman siguro na parang tipong ang aming operation ay to make sure that she becomes president at ang pangalan ng operation namin ay ‘Save the Queen.’ Parang walang tanga na operator na ipapangalan mo sa operation mo kung ano ang objective mo,” she continued.

During the briefing, the vice president was asked about her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte’s advice for her to leave politics. The call comes after Duterte had a very public falling out with her erstwhile runningmate, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

“Pagkatapos niya akong sinabi na tumakbo ako nang tumakbo, tumakbo akong mayor, vice mayor sabihan niya ako (to leave politics),” she said.

“Darating din tayo doon, darating din na hindi na ako sasali sa politics. Ako man gusto ko rin, pero I need to answer to 32.2 million Filipinos who gave their trust and confidence in me to become the Vice President of everyone, hindi lang 32.2 million,” Duterte continued.

“Darating din tayo doon na hindi na ako sasali sa politika pero buhay kasi natin hindi natin alam anong mangyayari bukas, we can only plan but it’s always God’s purpose that shall prevail."
