MANILA — Former Palace spokesperson Harry Roque has yet to submit his counter-affidavit to the Department of Justice (DOJ) panel of prosecutors handling his qualified trafficking case in connection with illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) in Porac, Pampanga.

DOJ Prosecutor Eugene Yusi said Roque was already notified of the complaints against him for his supposed involvement with Lucky South 99 POGO.

“Atty. Harry Roque has not yet submitted his counter-affidavit, presently he has not yet participated or has been represented during the preliminary investigation,” Yusi said.

Roque earlier denied being the lawyer of Lucky South 99.

The qualified trafficking complaint also involves Lucky South 99 representative Cassandra Li Ong and around 50  other respondents.

After his inclusion in the complaint, Roque had expressed willingness to participate in the preliminary investigation of the DOJ.

“If he fails to appear or participate in the preliminary investigation the complaint will be resolved on the basis of the complaint and the evidence annexed to the complaint,” Yusi said.

Roque reiterated that he still intended to submit his counter-affidavit. He said he had yet to receive the summons and a copy of the complaint affidavit.
