George Calvelo, ABS-CBN News/File"/><span class="fr-inner">The Department of Justice building in Manila on September 7, 2022. <em id="isPasted">George Calvelo, ABS-CBN News/File</em></span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA — Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla signed on Wednesday the Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order or ILBO against five officials of the Office of the Vice President and two former Department of Education officials who have ignored summonses by a House panel, Assistant Secretary Mico Clavano said.</p><p>The House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability requested the order after OVP officials issued subpoenas after repeatedly failed to attend hearings on the office&#x27;s confidential expenses.</p><p>Named in the House panel&#x27;s request were the following:</p><ul><li>• OVP Chief of Staff Zuleika Lopez, who has left the country for Los Angeles in the United States</li><li>• Assistant Chief of Staff and Bids and Awards Committee Chairperson Lemuel Ortonio</li><li>• Administrative and Financial Services Director Rosalynne Sanchez</li><li>• Special Disbursing Officer Gina Acosta</li><li>• Chief Accountant Julieta Villadelrey</li><li>• Former Education Assistant Secretary Sunshine Charry Fajarda</li><li>• Former Department of Education Special Disbursing Officer Edward Fajarda</li></ul><div><br/></div><p>Vice President Sara Duterte was education secretary until she resigned from the Cabinet of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier this year</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/11/4/house-panel-asks-doj-to-issue-lookout-bulletin-against-7-ovp-officials-1813" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/11/4/house-panel-asks-doj-to-issue-lookout-bulletin-against-7-ovp-officials-1813">House panel asks DOJ to issue lookout bulletin against 7 OVP officials</a></div><p>“The ILBO was officially signed today [and will be forwarded to the] Bureau of Immigration for them to implement the ILBO in their system,” Clavano, department spokesperson, said.</p><p>The DOJ however reiterated that the order does not restrict the travel of individuals named in an ILBO.</p><p>“[This is] merely a monitoring mechanism by which we can see kung lumabas po sila ng bansa or pumasok na (if they have left the country or have returned),” Clavano said.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/11/5/sara-duterte-s-chief-of-staff-left-ph-amid-funds-probe-house-panel-1228" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/11/5/sara-duterte-s-chief-of-staff-left-ph-amid-funds-probe-house-panel-1228">Sara Duterte&#x27;s chief of staff left PH amid funds probe: House panel</a></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO:</strong></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/8Jg95_CSNmc?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
