<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1731122722947hima.png" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Tropical Depression Nika was last seen at 1,255 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon. <em>DOST PAGASA HIMAWARI.</em></span></span></span>MANILA — The low pressure area that entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on early Saturday is now a tropical depression and is called Nika.</div><p>In its <a href="https://www.facebook.com/PAGASA.DOST.GOV.PH/posts/pfbid034KLXmmADS1kB8fvNkPzYCZiwxoiJro2j2gH1tnFHihsJWuSvD7WAdLm3ub9RitJal">11 a.m. bulletin</a>, Pagasa said Nika was 1,145 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts up to 70 kph.</p><p>The tropical depression is moving westward at 30 kph.</p><p>Wind signal No. 1 is now raised in Catanduanes.</p><p>The disturbance may intensify to severe tropical storm strength before making landfall over Isabela or Aurora on Monday, November 11.</p><p>It will then cross Northern Luzon and may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.</p><p>The state weather bureau is also monitoring another LPA outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
