MANILA — The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) on Monday said the bomb threats sent to 6 Philippine government agencies were a confirmed &quot;hoax,&quot; with the email originating from Japan.<ul><li><a data-cke-saved-href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/2/12/bomb-threat-at-denr-office-false-alarm-says-qcpd-1611" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/2/12/bomb-threat-at-denr-office-false-alarm-says-qcpd-1611">Bomb threat at DENR office &#x27;false alarm&#x27;, says QCPD</a></li></ul> &quot;There is no cause for alarm as this sender and email has been tagged as a hoax,&quot; CICC executive director Alexander Ramos said.CICC is an office under the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).   The CICC said the email originated from Japan, whose domain name was registered locally in the same country.&quot;Efforts are on the way to request the Japanese government to investigate thoroughly and identify the sender,&quot; the office said.The CICC said multiple government agencies in Seoul, South Korea also received the same email &quot;about the same time.&quot;   The DENR earlier sent home its employees after it received a bomb threat but the QCPD investigation showed no signs of a bomb inside the premises.Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla has also ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (DOJ) to conduct a thorough probe into the bomb threats received by government agencies.
