PAGASA said the mercury would rise higher in Northern Luzon where maximum daytime temperatures could reach over 40 degrees Celsius. </p><p>These figures are just actual temperatures and do not include calculations for heat index, Solis said.  </p><p>“Dagdag pa ‘yung alinsangan o ‘yung heat index. The public therefore is reminded to hydrate and wear light, protective clothing when going outdoors.</p><p>“Medyo mapanganib ito because ang normal body temperature is 37 degrees lang. We should have 8-12 glasses per day. So this means temperature outside our body is much higher, similar to a fever. Make sure those at risk are always monitored for their blood pressure. By April and May, PAGASA projects the number of affected provinces to rise to 80.</p><p>This is why even if water levels in dams remain at a comfortable level, water austerity measures and continuous monitoring remain important.</p><p>The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System is also working hard to minimize system loss of water sourced from the Angat Dam.
