6 soldiers killed in military ops vs MSU bombers

<p>MANILA <strong>(UPDATE)</strong> — Six soldiers were killed during an encounter this weekend with members of the Dawlah Islamiyah-Maute Group, the alleged perpetrators of the deadly bombing at Mindanao State University (MSU) late last year, the military said on Monday. </p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/video/news/12/03/23/msu-bombing-could-be-retaliatory-attack">MSU church service bombing could be &#x27;retaliatory attack&#x27;: AFP</a></div><p>During the Sunday operation, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said &quot;six of our valiant soldiers paid the ultimate sacrifice while another four were wounded.&quot;</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/12/05/23/part-of-us-died-with-them-msu-mourns-marawi-bombing-victims">&#x27;Part of us died with them&#x27;: Mindanao State University mourns Marawi bombing victims</a></div><p>Two members of the Dawlah Islamiyah-Maute Group were killed in the same operation, the AFP said. </p><p>&quot;I extend my sincerest condolences to the families of our slain soldiers and offer the AFP&#x27;s support in this very trying time. I will also make sure that our wounded soldiers receive the best treatment possible for their injuries,&quot; AFP chief of staff Romeo Brawner, Jr. said in a statement.</p><p>The clash took place in Munai, Lanao del Norte, according to Philippine Army Public Affairs Office chief Col.
