Taal Volcano emitted 14,211 tons per day of sulfur dioxide Monday, the second highest emission recorded this year, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.Speaking to TeleRadyo Serbisyo, Phivolcs chief Teresito Bacolcol said the highest emission recorded this year was in January 25 after Taal emitted 15,425 tons of sulfure dioxide.Bacolcol said the latest emission shows the volcano&#x27;s continuous degassing activity from its magma chamber.&quot;Hindi ito indikasyon na sasabog &#x27;yung Taal volcano,&quot; he said.He added: &quot;Buti na lang walang vog na na-form kasi mabilis yung hangin although may mga reported na masangsang na amoy sa Barangay Bilibinwang at Banyaga sa Agoncillo, Batangas.&quot;The Phivolcs chief said tourists visiting Tagaytay should bring N95 masks in case of volcanic smog or vog - a visible haze comprised of gas and an aerosol of tiny particles and acidic droplets created when sulfur dioxide (SO2) and other gases emitted from a volcano chemically interact with sunlight and atmospheric oxygen, moisture, and dust.
