MANILA - Several hours before the March 12 deadline to reverse a senator’s contempt order against Kingdom of Jesus Christ’s Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, social media platforms were flooded by the religious leader’s alleged “17 conditions” before he will attend the Senate hearing.

The conditions were posted by a group of bloggers who, according to SMNI sources, interviewed Quiboloy over the weekend.

The posts showcase a photo of Quiboloy in a suit with entitled “Set of Conditions for Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy to Attend Risa Hontiveros’ Senate Hearing,” listed down the following terms:

17.  Failure to comply to this set of conditions forfeits your chance of my expository attendance, thus rendering your Senate a big joke of shameful charlatans and a shallow exposition of a bunch of idiotic parroting mindless, pathological liars paid and taught by their deceiving lying masters just to read a poorly pwrrepared type written narrative of hellish lies. What a gross embarrassment and insult to the intelligence of decent, dignified, critical thinking people, from which the sake of sanity, we should avoid like a plague.

'DINAIG PA ANG 10 COMMANDMENTS'

In a news conference Monday, Senator Risa Hontiveros, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality, scoffed at the alleged demands of Quiboloy.

The Senate will not bend its rules and procedures for you, Pastor Quiboloy, even if you are, as you say, a self-appointed son of God. Hindi kami para utusan mo. You will not mock the system of checks and balances on our watch. This is not up for debate,” the senator added.

Hontiveros also called Quiboloy’s supposed demands as “out of this world.”

“Madalas, in the interest of time, kami mismo mga kapwa senador ay nag-o-observe ng time limit ayon sa facilitation ng chair. Ito sila, no time limit. So, talaga, out of this world. Out of this world,” Hontiveros remarked.

For her, the most absurd is the part where Quiboloy demands for an all-expenses paid appearance to the Senate.

“O, huling halimbawa, number 14. All expenses incurred from this trip, yung kanya raw pagpunta rito na ang dami-daming kasama, malaki yung kanyang entourage. All expenses incurred from this trip, including private jet flight back and forth with parking in NAIA, food according to my dietary requirements and fees for accommodation in a five-star hotel for me and my party, must be shouldered by your office."

“So, wow! Ito ngayon ay mayroong all expenses for that private jet flight. Merong pang food requirements. At hindi lang four-star, three-star, two-star, one-star, five-star hotel. Magastos po ang resource person natin,” Hontiveros said.

According to Hontiveros,  the latest information that she received was that the “written objection” targeting to reverse her contempt ruling is still short by 4 signatories.

Hontiveros said she remains hopeful that her colleagues will review and listen to the testimonies of alleged victims before looking at the written objection.

QUIBOLOY CAMP: 'DEMANDS' ARE  'FAKE NEWS'

But Quiboloy's camp on Tuesday scored Hontiveros for reacting "on what is obviously fake news" regarding the pastor's supposed demands.

"Had Ms. Hontiveros been possessed of even a shred of common sense, she should have been alerted to the fact that the 'demands' are so exaggerated as to be unrealistic," said Quiboloy's lawyer Ferdinand Topacio.

"Yet, such obvious hallmarks of disinformation has eluded her attention, so much so that she is either so dense or perhaps the disinformation was deliberately spread so that Hontiveros could seize on it and further put the Pastor in a bad light. In any case, her violent reaction on such an evidently bogus report reflects badly on her fitness for public office and competence as a Senator," he said in a statement.

Topacio continued, "But do carry on, Ms. Hontiveros. In the face of mounting prices and the deteriorating peace and order situation, among other problems, the Filipino people could use a good laugh."

DUTERTE AS KOJC ASSET ADMINISTRATOR

Hontiveros on Monday said that she can only guess what is the motivation of Quiboloy for appointing former president Rodrigo Duterte as KOJC’s asset administrator, except for signs that their interests are “intertwined.”

May kasabihan pa nga diba, tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are.”

SCENARIO

March 12 marks the deadline for Senator Robin Padilla to produce his “written objection” to Hontiveros’ contempt order.

Failure to produce eight signatories would result in retaining Hontivero’s contempt ruling.

This will give her the authority to request Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri to issue an arrest order against Quiboloy, the senator said.

In the event that the House of Representatives will be the first to effect the arrest of Quiboloy, there is a possibility that the Senate will ask its counterparts to request the televangelist’s presence, she said.

Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III meantime, did not discount the possibility of seeing Quibloy running to the Supreme Court.

“Going to court is and always will or should be a remedy for all people here in the Philippines. Citizens and even foreigners alike. That is his right and prerogative and should not be taken against him,” Pimentel said.

Padilla begged off from updating journalists on the number of senators supporting his objection.

Senator Imee Marcos, one of the four signatories who are for the reversal of the contempt order, said that she wouldn’t mind if they would lose in the end.

Dahil nakita natin, may kaso yung Korte Suprema yung Bengzon vs Senate Blue Ribbon Committee na pareho naman yung paksa, wala namang bagong in aid of legislation. Huwag magpapagamit,”Marcos said.

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, who is a friend of Quiboloy but not a Committee on Women member, coyly asked if he could still join those who are opposed to the contempt ruling.

Just like Marcos, dela Rosa also supported Duterte’s appointment as KOJC assets administrator.
