MANILA — Health chief Teodoro Herbosa on Tuesday ordered the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to include ultrasound and mammogram in its Konsulta benefit package.

In a statement, Herbosa said he had instructed the state insurer's benefits committee to work on adding the said medical imaging procedures "for immediate implementation nationwide."

Herbosa's order follows the call of several lawmakers to expand the PhilHealth coverage to primary care screening services like ultrasound and mammography.
