Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News Kasado na ang mga aktibidad para sa Balikatan Exercise 2024 o ang joint military exercise ng Estados Unidos at ng Armed Forces of the Philippines.</div>Ayon kay Executive Agent and Designated Spokesperson for Balikatan Exercise Col. Michael Logico, lalahukan ito ng 11, 000 dito ay mga sundalo na galing sa Estados Unidos at 5, 000 mula sa Armed Forces of the Philippines.May 14 bansa rin aniyang magsisilbing observer sa pagsasanay kasama na rito ang Japan at mga bansang kasapin ng Association of Southeast Asian Nation.Kabilang naman sa mga aktibidad sa balikatan exercise ang group sailing na lalahokan ng Philippine Navy, US Navy at Frenh Navy kung saan mgalalayag sa western side ng Palawan.&quot;A group sail is a maritime exercise and the events that take place there would be a combination of division tactics, search and rescue, vehicle boarding search and seizure exercises, gunnery exercises, well deck operations, those are types of exercise so they will be moving from point A to point B. We will be utilizing the Western side of Palawan extending beyond 12 nautical miles. We&#x27;ve done group sails before but this time we will be going beyond our 12 nautical mile limitation,&quot; sabi ni Col. We&#x27;ll be using anti-aircraft weapon systems however maybe limited lang kasi we are still having problems acquiring the targets for these weapons systems but the entire exercise will be a combination of live virtual and constructed,&quot; ani Logico.The training here is not just in the pulling of the trigger--that is probably the easiest thing you can do, the real training here is the interoperability between our systems and the system of our treaty allies, yun ang mahirap eh.
