MANILA — A Philippine Navy helicopter crashed Thursday morning in Cavite City, killing the 2 pilots on board, authorities said.

A Robinson R22 light utility helicopter of the Philippine Navy attempted to make an emergency landing near the Cavite City Public Market, Commander John Percie Alcos, Navy spokesperson, said.

Alcos said the two navy aviators were rushed to the hospital but eventually succumbed to their injuries.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines has yet to inform the families of the deceased pilots.

An investigation is now being conducted to determine the cause of the crash.
