Duterte: If Inday becomes president...

Former president Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday said if his daughter Vice President Sara Duterte becomes president, he will ask her to prioritize land reform.

Duterte visited Barangay Pandaitan in Paquibato district, Davao City for the Araw ng Barangay where he urged New People's Army rebels to return to the fold.

"Panahon na siguro nga, kung si Inday ang mag-presidente, ingnon gyud nako sa iyaha, 'Day, wala man tay utang kabubut-on sa mga dato, unaha na nang reporma sa yuta. Bungkaga nang dato, ihatag na lang sa mga tao," he said in a speech.

This was his statement after seeing large lands of businessmen while heading to the far-flung barangay.

Even if the vice president still has four years to finish her term, the Duterte patriarch said if Sara becomes president, she can gradually implement land reforms for the poor.

"Ug ma-presidente si Inday, puhon, maluoy ang Ginoo og modagan. Unom ka tuig man na. Hinay-hinayon lang niya. Dili niya biglaan kay dako pud ang mawala," he said.

(Kung ma-presidente si Inday, soon, sa awa ng Diyos. Anim na taon naman 'yan. Unti-untiin lang niya. Hindi biglaan dahil malaki rin ang mawala.)

He said for those who cannot afford to buy seedlings, fertilizers, and other farm inputs, they can lease the land.

Duterte also appealed to the government to repair roads in Davao City.

He told to supporters that he is not in the opposition against the current administration.
