After years of hard work, cadets of the Philippine National Police Academy Layag-Diwa class of 2024 marched Friday on the grounds of Camp General Mariano Castañeda in Silang, Cavite after completing the Bachelor of Science in Public Safety.

Even under the sweltering heat, some friends and family were overcome with emotion as they greeted the fresh graduates, giving hugs and warm smiles.

The ones with the biggest smiles arguably were the family of Class Valedictorian Maria Camille Cabasis.

The lass from Lian, Batangas topped the 223-man class and received the Presidential Kampilan Award from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The graduates will be the last batch to be appointed in the government’s Tri-Bureau Service namely the PNP, BFP, and BJMP. By 2025, the academy will only be producing Police Lieutenants.
