Why Philippines won't witness April 8 solar eclipse and other must-know facts

This occurs when a new moon is positioned in front of the sun, causing darkness. Protective filters or sunglasses are necessary.However, the April 8 solar eclipse won&#x27;t be visible in the Philippines as it will pass over North America, including Mexico, the United States, and Canada.Mendoza added that while the moon is positioned on the morning side, it would be nighttime in the Philippines during this event.&quot;Ibig sabihin nandun siya sa area kung nasan &#x27;yung other side of the world which is ‘yung western side. So dahil nasa Western side ‘yung moon, essentially dun lang makikita &#x27;yung solar eclipse,&quot; Mendoza said.(It means it&#x27;s in the area where the other side of the world is, which is the western side. So because the moon is on the western side, essentially, that&#x27;s where the solar eclipse can only be seen.)The next total solar eclipse in the Philippines is set to happen on April 20, 2042, and it will be visible from Legazpi City.There are also some conspiracy theories surrounding solar eclipses, such as the end of the world, associated with bad omens.
