MANILA — The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday said it was anticipating another warrant of arrest against Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader and founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy for a separate case of qualified human trafficking.

The DOJ filed the case before the Pasig City court following a resolution promulgated by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla on March 5, 2024, which overturned the Davao City Prosecutors Office's dismissal of cases of rape, qualified human trafficking, and child abuse against Quiboloy.

"Hinihintay pa ng Department of Justice na mailabas ng Pasig Regional Trial Court ang isa pang warrant of arrest laban kay Quiboloy para sa kasong qualified trafficking," DOJ Undersecretary Marge Gutierrez said in a public briefing.

The Davao Regional Trial Court recently issued a warrant of arrest Quiboloy for child abuse.

Quiboloy over the weekend listed conditions for his surrender, which included "written guarantees" from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the DOJ, national police, and National Bureau of Investigation that the US would not interfere in his case.

DOJ said Quiboloy was not in a position to set conditions for his surrender.

(Secretary Remulla advised Pastor Quiboloy to face the serious case and accusations against him. The secretary said Quiboloy had no right to set conditions for his surrender. He added that Quiboloy's case concerns a grave violation of the law. He urged the pastor to prove his innoncence before the court.)
