<p>MANILA — The closure of the EDSA-Kamuning Flyover southbound began on Wednesday to facilitate retrofitting works.</p><p>Only buses using the EDSA bus carousel are permitted to pass through the flyover during this period.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/business/2024/4/4/dpwh-announces-3-major-road-works-11-month-retrofitting-of-kamuning-flyover-249" id="isPasted">READ: DPWH announces 3 major road works, 11-month retrofitting of Kamuning flyover</a></div><p>While traffic congestion and slow-moving vehicles were observed near the vicinity of EDSA southbound corner Scout Borromeo Street, traffic flow resumed smoothly after passing the traffic light at EDSA corner Kamuning.</p><p>The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advised motorists to consider alternative routes and utilize the Mabuhay Lanes, including Scout Borromeo, Scout Albano, Panay Avenue, West Avenue, and Mother Ignacia Avenue.</p><p>&quot;Nakatulong po ‘yung holiday kasi kakaunti po ‘yung mga byahero... Mabuhay lane hindi naman po masyadong bumabara dahil nakatulong po ‘yung previous na pag-o-operate ng ating operation about du’n sa mga naka-illegal park,&quot; said MDDA Traffic Aide Michael Arcilla.</p><p>(The holiday has been beneficial because there are fewer commuters... The Mabuhay lane is not causing significant congestion because our previous operations against illegal parking have been effective.)</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/2024/4/26/kamuning-flyover-clearing-1214">READ: Alternate route cleared ahead of EDSA-Kamuning Flyover&#x27;s partial closure</a></div><p>Reynaldo Ramos, a motorist, said he found traversing the area difficult.</p><p>&quot;Naku sobrang hirap po ngayon dito dumaan, galing pa po kaming probinsya di namin inakala na ganito.... Nabalitaan namin pero hindi alam na ngayong araw ‘yung closure niya,&quot; he said.</p><p>(It&#x27;s really difficult passing through here right now, especially since we came from the province. We didn&#x27;t expect it to be like this...
