MANILA -- Former Senate President and Nationalist People's Coalition Chairman Vicente Sotto III on Wednesday confirmed discussions with a representative of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.

"I have had initial talks with a representative of the President so we have yet to formalize. At the moment, our party (NPC) is in Alliance with the President." Sotto told ABS-CBN in a text message.

In his speech during the recent oath-taking ceremony of the new members of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, Marcos said the party was engaging with other parties for possible alliances and coalitions ahead of the 2025 elections.
