​Signal No. 1 hoisted over Metro Manila, lifted in some Visayas areas due to #AghonPH

MANILA — Metro Manila is now under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1, while storm signals were lifted in some Visayas areas as Tropical Depression Aghon brought rains and wind to some areas on Saturday.

The storm has slightly weakened after crossing land in Ticao Island and Masbate City, packing sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 70 km/h, and central pressure of 1006 hPa

Tropical cyclone wind signals have been raised in the following areas:

Luzon:

Aurora

Eastern portion of Nueva Ecija (General Tinio, Gabaldon), the eastern portion of Bulacan (Norzagaray, Doña Remedios Trinidad, City of San Jose del Monte)

Metro Manila

Quezon including Pollilo Islands

Romblon (Cajidiocan, Magdiwang, San Fernando, Romblon, Corcuera, Banton, San Agustin, San Andres, Calatrava, Concepcion),

Marinduque

Rizal

Oriental Mindoro (Pinamalayan, Pola, Naujan, Victoria, Socorro, City of Calapan), Batangas (Lobo, Taysan, Rosario, Padre Garcia, San Juan, Santo Tomas)

Visayas:

The northern portion of Northern Samar (Rosario, Biri, San Isidro, Capul, San Vicente, Victoria, Lavezares, San Antonio, San Jose, Allen, Bobon)

Heavy rainfall warnings were also issued in the following:

Orange warning  (rainfall between 15 mm and 30 mm within one hour, flooding is a threat)

- Albay 

-Sorsogon

-Masbate

Yellow warning (rainfall amount between 7.5 mm and 15 mm within one hour and likely to continue)

- Northern Samar

Meanwhile light to moderate to occasionally heavy rains are expected in Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Romblon, Marinduque, and Oriental Mindoro.
