Temperatures in Metro Manila will be slightly lower on Friday, ranging from 40 to 41 degrees Celsius below the “danger” category, weather bureau PAGASA said.

Highest recorded heat index in NAIA, Pasay City in Metro Manila for 2024 was 46 degrees Celsius last April 24. The highest recorded heat index for 2024 was 53 degrees Celsius in Iba, Zambales last April 28.

Two areas - Dagupan City in Pangasinan and Aparri in Cagayan - are forecast to experience 47 degree Celsius heat index this Friday, and will go even higher - 48 degrees Celsius - on Saturday. 

Roxas City, Capiz will experience 45 degrees Celsius heat index this Friday. Seven areas are facing 44-degree weather today including Laoag City, Iba, Zambales, Cuyo, Palawan, Virac, Catanduanes, CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur, Dumangas, Iloilo, and Zamboanga City.

Coron, Palawan - 42 degrees C

San Jose, Occidental Mindoro - 43 degrees C

Puerto Princesa City, Palawan - 43 degrees C

Aborlan, Palawan - 43 degrees C

Daet, Camarines Norte - 42 degrees C

Legazpi City, Albay - 42 degrees C

Masbate City, Masbate - 42 degrees C

Mambusao, Capiz - 42 degrees C
