MANILA — "Diamond Star" Maricel Soriano confirmed Tuesday that she used to own the condominium unit that figured in a Senate panel's investigation of "secret" Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) documents concerning an illegal drugs operation.

Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs chair Sen. Ronald dela Rosa sought Soriano's comment after her name was dragged into the matter.

Soriano maintained she knows nothing of the leaked documents, before Dela Rosa asked about a condominium in Makati City.

'May property ka ba sa Rockwell? Ikaw ba ang nagmamay-ari ng unit 46-C Rizal Tower located at Rockwell Bgy. Poblacion, Makati City?" Dela Rosa asked.

"Opo. Hanggang 2012 po, nabenta ko na ho 'yun. Wala na ako dun," Soriano replied.

Dela Rosa noted that whistleblower Jonathan Morales' pre-ops document covered the time of the sale of the unit.

"But then you admit na you are the owner and the same time the occupant of such unit yung unit 46-C, 2012 binenta mo? " Dela Rosa said.

Dela Rosa asked Soriano for the deed of sale which she said she will try to find.

Soriano said yes, while Morales clarified that his pre-ops was March 11, 2012.

In her opening statement, Soriano admitted being tense attending the Senate panel probe.

"Unang-una humihingi po ako ng paumanhin dahil hindi po ako sanay sa mga ganito. Alam niyo po, first time ko lang talaga na makatanggap ng imbitasyon na humarap sa Senado. Nakakakaba at nakakatakot. Sa totoo lang po, hindi malinaw sa akin kung bakit ako naimbitahan sa hearing... Pasensya na po kung naliito po talaga ako dito," Soriano said.

Aside from Soriano, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. was also implicated in the "PDEA leaks" mess.
