MANILA -- Former Senator Antonio Trillanes has filed a cyberlibel complaint against three vlogger-influencers in the National Bureau of Investigation Cybercrime Division.

The complaint stemmed from the alleged social media posts of the three vlogger-influencers who claimed that Trillanes sold Scarborough Shoal to China during backchannel talks in 2012.

Last month, Trillanes also filed cyberlibel complaints in the NBI against three other vlogger-influencers who allegedly posted the same claims regarding Scarborough Shoal.

Trillanes also has an ongoing cyberlibel complaint against former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque and vlogger Banat By in the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

Trillanes advised vloggers and influencers to be more responsible with their posts in social media, saying: “Kung anuman yung agenda or mga tinutulak na advocacy dapat within the limits of the law lang. Pag fake news o lumagpas na sa cyber libel, talagang mananagot sila.”

The NBI, meanwhile, is expected to subpoena the vlogger-influencers so they can give a statement and explain their side.
