MANILA - ABS-CBN has earned a $25,000 grant for fact-checking ahead of the 2025 midterm elections.International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) at the Poynter Institute announced this Friday. ABS-CBN Fact Check is one of 39 institutions across 34 countries who were awarded with the grant. “In this critical election year, the need for accurate information couldn’t be more urgent,” Angie Drobnic Holan, IFCN director said. “This vital funding will energize fact-checking organizations, sharpening their skills, amplifying their capabilities and expanding their reach. The organizations were picked by &quot;a committee of media experts&quot; after ABS-CBN submitted its proposal. Winners have nine to 12 months to complete their projects.
