Quezon City issues traffic advisory for Pride PH thanksgiving event

MANILA — The local government of Quezon City is implementing a stop-and-go scheme on Elliptical Road and in front of Quezon City Hall for the &quot;Love Laban 2 Everyone&quot; Pride Month thanksgiving celebration that will be held in Quezon Memorial Circle on Sunday. The innermost lane of Elliptical Road is closed and designated as a parking area for attendees. The stop-and-go scheme will be dependent on the volume of people attending the event, which will continue until 9 p.m., said Dexter Cardeñas, head of traffic and transport management department (TTMD). &quot;Kapag manageable pa &#x27;yung dating ng mga tao dun sa underpass na muna pinapadaan. Kung talagang volume na siya at sisikip sa underpass doon na natin sa ground level sa taas na pinapadaan,&quot; Cardeñas said. (If the volume is manageable, people will be directed to the underpass. If the volume increases and causes congestion, we will direct people to the ground level.) More than 600 TTMD personnel are deployed around Elliptical Road and nearby roads, such as Visayas Avenue, North Avenue, East Avenue, V. Luna, and Kalayaan Avenue. Cardeñas assured the public that the traffic situation would not be as severe as during the previous Pride event.
