They were given disaster kits which contained their basic necessities.Mayor Jonas Cortes said rains from the mountainous part of Cebu City where the Butuanon River extends could have caused the flood.“Walay uwan apan apektado ang traffic sa mga karsada… tungod sa pag-awas sa tubig-baha gikan sa Butuanon River,&quot; the mayor said.Several streets were also rendered impassable due to the flood. It affected a huge portion of the UN Avenue, S. B. Cabahug Street, Centro and Basak Area.Officials have yet to assess the extent of the damage but logged no injury or casualty from the incident. Based on their monitoring, the flood subsided after five hours.The local government is set to convene a meeting with the flood management unit to discuss possible solutions to the flooding.Cebu continues to experience heavy rains in some parts due to the effect of the southwest monsoon, according to PAGASA Visayas.
