MANILA – The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on Tuesday said it temporarily took down its online systems to protect OFW data from a ransomware attack.

“While efforts to restore online systems are ongoing, electronic or online systems that issue OECs (overseas employment certificates)/OFW Passes and OFW information sheets and other online services may not be used temporarily,” the agency said in a statement.

The agency said applicants for OECs and OFW Pass could proceed to DMW offices, one-stop shops, and Migrant Workers Assistance Centers for manual processing.

OFWs securing information sheets do not have to go to any DMW office and may send their request to infosheet@dmw.gov.ph or through Facebook Messenger.
